Cyber Monday Exceeds $1 Billion in Sales
By Anna Johnson on December 6th, 2010Cyber Monday – the Monday after Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. which took place this year on November 29, 2010 – was the biggest day in online sales in U.S. history, reaching $1.028 billion in sales.
According to comScore, this year’s Cyber Monday saw 16 percent more sales than last year. Meanwhile, during the holiday season so far, $13.55 billion has been spent online, 13 percent more than during the same period last year.
Here are the sales to date, according to comScore:
- November 1 – 29, 2010: $13,553 million (up 13 percent)
- Thanksgiving Day (November 25): $407 million (up 28 percent)
- Black Friday (November 26): $648 million (up 9 percent)
- Weekend (November 27-28): $886 million (up 10 percent)
- Cyber Monday (November 29): $1,028 million (up 16 percent)
