Cosmetic Surgery Company Settles Fake Testimonial Case

By Anna Johnson on July 21st, 2009

Lifestyle Lift, a cosmetic surgery company, has agreed to pay $300,000 in penalties and costs to the State of New York after settling its case with the State over allegations it posted fake positive consumer reviews on the Internet.

Apparently, Lifestyle Lift had told its staff to pretend to be satisfied customers and to post glowing review of its face-lift procedure on websites.

The company also went so far as to create seemingly independent websites featuring positive reviews of its face-lift procedure.

Sad to say, it’s not difficult to imagine tons of other scammers engaging in similar practises. At least we’re seeing the authorities clamping down on such behavior.
