Consumers Will Watch Ads To Get Free Video
By Anna Johnson on April 6th, 2009A three month study by Knowledge Networks indicates that consumers prefer free, ad-supported video over non-ad supported video they have to pay for.
The Knowledge Networks study found that 37 percent of those surveyed had streamed TV Internet network video and 11 percent had watched downloaded network video.
Among those who downloaded network video, 80 percent favored watching ads in exchange for free video. This represents an increase over the 67 percent that preferred ad-supported free video in a similar 2006 study.
