Consumers Favor Internet Over Cell Phone and Cable TV

The home broadband adoption rate up is 63 percent, up 15 percent from May 2008, with consumers favoring Internet access over having cell phones or cable TV.
In its new report ‘Home Broadband Adoption 2009′ Pew reveals that Americans regard broadband as a ‘must keep’, regardless of the challenging economic environment.
63 percent of adult Americans surveyed by Pew have broadband Internet connections at home. What’s more, Pew found they were twice as likely to cut back or cancel a cell phone plan or cable TV service than their Internet service.
