Consumers Expect Uninterrupted Broadband Access
By Anna Johnson on September 13th, 2009A recent survey commissioned by SUPERCOMM, a telecommunications industry’s trade show hosted by TIA and US Telecom, confirms what many of us have probably naturally thought: uninterrupted broadband Internet access should be as readily available as other utilities such as electricity and water.
Indeed, that was the view of nearly 70 percent of the 1,000+ respondents (across all ages, race, income brackets and geographic lines). Also, the SUPERCOMM study found that over half of respondents believe faster broadband access positively impacts productivity at the workplace.
These views were even more acute among respondents in the 18-34 year old age category, with 75 percent of such respondents believing that broadband should be as readily available as other utility services, and almost 80 percent believing that faster broadband speeds improve productivity at work.
