Free Tool Suggests Keyword Combinations For Paid Search

Combine Words is a free tool that lets you generate keyword combinations for use in a paid search campaign such as Google Adwords.

Basically, you just enter a list of keywords into each form field and then select broad match, exact match or phrase match. Then press ‘Process Words’ and the tool generates various combinations of your keywords.

Bill Hartzer, who runs search engine optimization firm Bill Hartzer, LLC, developed the tool. Give it a spin!


Google’s Page Speed Online Tells You How Fast Your Web Pages Load

Google has just released Page Speed Online. Page Speed Online is a simple tool that tells you how fast a web page loads in a desktop browser or mobile device.

Just type in a URL and Google’s Page Speed Online will score the page out of 100, indicating how fast the page loads. The higher the score the better. It will also provide ‘high priority’, ‘medium priority’ and ‘low priority’ suggestions for improving page speed.

What is Google +1?

Google has just launched ‘+1′. Google +1 is a button that will appear alongside Google’s search results, Google Adwords ads and other web content which people can click on to recommend to their Google contacts, much in the same way as people use Facebook’s ‘Like’ button.

You need to have, and be logged into, a Google account to use Google +1 to recommend and share content. Also, when you first click the +1 button you can choose whether or not to let Google use that behavioral information to personalize ads and other content.

Tinychat Lets You Host Group Video Chat on Your Website

Tinychat is a new application that lets you host group video chat rooms on your website without installing any software. Like Wibiya (see the Wibiya toolbar at the bottom of the Kikabink News website), Tinychat is a toolbar you can integrate into your web pages.

Once up and running, you can use your web camera and microphone to host video chat sessions with visitors to your site. You can even share up to 12 simultaneous broadcasts. Tinychat isn’t limited to video either – you can also use it for text and audio chat.

Billions of Ad Impressions Infested With Malware

Last year over 10 billion online ad impressions contained malicious code or ‘malware’, according to recent research from the Online Trust Alliance (OTA).

The OTA found that 19,000 incidents of malvertising occurred across 3,500 sites and 200 unique ad networks last year. Based on the average number of ad impressions served per incident in a typical 3-day period (the average time a malvertising campaign runs before it’s identified and stopped) the total number of ad impressions carrying malware came to around 10.8 billion.

Mozilla Adds Do-Not-Track Feature To Firefox 4.0

Mozilla’s Firefox 4.0 (beta) has launched with a ‘do-not-track feature’ that lets users tell websites they don’t want to be tracked.

By selecting a check-box labeled ‘Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked’ a user will cause Firefox to broadcast a HTTP header to a given website, indicating they don’t want to be tracked.

Google’s Android To Edge Out iPhone in 2012

Google’s Android mobile operating system is set to reach a 31 percent share of the U.S. smartphone market in 2012, edging out Apple’s iPhone, which is expected to have a 30 percent share.

According to eMarketer, both Android and iPhone will continue gaining smartphone share over the next couple of years, with Android growing faster and taking the lead.

Based on the ShopTogether technology from DecisionStep, Inc. (which Buy.com has acquired for an undisclosed sum) the platform lets you get in touch with your Facebook friends or other contacts as you browse Buy.com’s online store. You can invite friends to see and discuss the same products in real-time via Facebook Connect, instant messenger or email.
