Br.st is both a Twitter client and a URL shortener service (similar to Bitly and TinyURL) that has just been revamped with some impressive new features.

Like most Twitter clients Br.st lets you post tweets, view your Twitter feed, direct message, retweet, track trending topics and save searches. On top of this, however, Br.st also offers:

• GeoTags, where images are automatically displayed with geotags alongside a map of a Twitter user’s location.
• A text shortener that automatically reduces your word count by using Twitter shorthand such as ‘u’ for you, etc.
• Image / file upload, enabling you to upload images and files of up to 10MB per image or file.
• The ability for users to comment on images and files.
• Statistics on your links and the ability to set up notifications for each time a person leaves a comment or downloads your files.
• Search and follow/unfollow, where you can search for other Twitter users and unfollow them or add/remove them from a list.
• The ability to create conversation threads around a specific message and store all the replies in one place.
