Baby Boomers are Largest Group of U.S. Internet Users

By Anna Johnson on December 11th, 2008

eMarketer estimates that ‘baby boomers’ – people born between 1945 and 1965 – constitute the largest group of United States Internet users. The 56.7 million boomers constitute nearly 30 percent of U.S. online users.

eMarketer says that about 74 percent of baby boomers use the Internet at least once a month. They tend to use it to ‘get things done’ rather than for entertainment. For example, baby boomers will use the Internet to find information about products and services, to make purchases, and to stay in touch with friends and family.

Absolutely right Carol. Baby boomers have definitely embraced the Internet and are not looking back.
