Apple Will Refund Customers… But Keep Commissions
By Anna Johnson on March 30th, 2009I do love Apple, and iTunes, and the iPod, and the iPhone, but according to TechCrunch, Apple is not exactly playing fair to its developers.
If, for example, a customer wants a refund for an application, Apple will require the developer to give the customer the refund… but Apple will still keep its commission on the sale!
This is, to my knowledge, unheard of, and certainly unfair. As TechCrunch points out, it’s understandable for Apple to retain a portion of the sales amount to cover administration costs… but surely not its entire 30 percent commission!
