Another Google Slap?
By Anna Johnson on July 11th, 2008Were you suddenly hit with higher Google Adwords prices yesterday?
According to Search Engine Roundtable, Google has just issued another “slap”, with many Google AdWords advertisers experiencing sharp increases in the cost of their minimum bid prices.
It appears that Google slapped a number of advertisers after crawling their landing pages and marking them low on landing page quality. Landing page quality is a key determinant of an advertiser’s minimum bid price and is based on such factors as:
- Relevant and original content
- Transparency
- Navigability
But the question is: has Google changed how it scores landing page quality? Otherwise, why were all these advertisers suddenly hit now?
