Americans Average 7.6 Hours of Online Video Per Month
By Anna Johnson on August 25th, 2009June 2009 data from comScore indicates that 81.2 percent of U.S. Internet users watched online video during that month, with the average online video viewer watching nearly 7.6 hours over the 30 day period.
YouTube.com, which attracted 111.8 million viewers to its 7.6 billion videos, saw its users average 67.9 videos per viewer, while MySpace users averaged 9.8 videos per viewer (based on 53.6 million viewers watching 524 million videos on MySpace.com).
The average visitor to Hulu watched 10.1 videos in June, totaling more than an hour of video content per visitor.
Overall, the average duration of an online video was 3.7 minutes, no doubt skewed by the enormous number of short videos on YouTube.
