Amazon Sells 240,000 Kindles?
By Anna Johnson on August 5th, 2008Tech Crunch has crunched the numbers (pardon the pun) and believes that Amazon has sold 240,000 Kindle ebook readers since they went on sale in November, 2007.
Tech Crunch quotes Citi analyst Mark Mahaney as predicting Kindle to be a $750 million business accounting for 3 percent of Amazon’s sales by 2010.
That’s good for Amazon and good for the ebook publishing industry. It also augurs well for the continued development and enhancement of ebook readers – by Amazon and others. Who knows, the day when we all curl up on the couch with an ebook reader may be closer than we think!
