3 Tips For Creating Successful Facebook Fan Pages
By Anna Johnson on February 10th, 2011When it comes to creating popular Facebook fan pages, Internet marketers can learn a thing or two from major brands such as Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Oreo.
As reported by marketing research firm eMarketer, major brands such as Coca-Cola (which had 19.8 million fans in November 2010), Starbucks (which had 18.5 million fans) and Oreo (which had 15.2 million), use such tactics as the following to attract and keep their huge Facebook fan bases:
1. Provide valuable – meaningful and engaging – content
What is meaningful and engaging to your particular audience will depend on your niche, but according to social media marketing agency Cone, 77 percent of social media users want brands to offer them INCENTIVES and 28 percent want content that is ENTERTAINING.
2. Regularly update your content
If you want to keep your Facebook fans coming back to your page daily or every few days, it follows that you’ll need to provide new content… daily or every few days! As a rule of thumb, update your content as frequently as your Facebook fans use Facebook. In other words, if your Facebook fans visit Facebook daily, you’ll want to update your content daily.
3. Incorporate interactivity
Again, depending on your niche, consider incorporating interactivity such as interactive games on your Facebook fan page. After adding an interactive game to its Facebook fan page, Oreo’s fan base jumped from 8.5 million fans in August 2010 to 15.2 million in November 2010.

These are some great tips for maintaining a successful Facebook Fan page. I think the biggest dilema for most businesses when it comes to Facebooks is how to turn customers, and potential customers, into Facebook Fans. The trick is to offer contests and give-aways strictly to Facebook Fans. You’ll be amazed by how many Fans you pick up by doing this.

“The trick is to offer contests and give-aways strictly to Facebook Fans. You’ll be amazed by how many Fans you pick up by doing this.” Yes I agree, most of facebook users are looking for leisure and interesting things so you need to keep in mind to give all out potential to your page.
What important is to convert customers to a potential customers / potential buyer when you’re dealing ecommerce.
