MarketingSherpa recently released a report describing how online marketers are responding to the recession.

Here are some of the tactics they’re using that may also apply equal to entrepreneurial Internet marketers:

  1. Embrace more low cost methods of generating leads, e.g. social media
  2. Befriend bloggers and join in their conversations
  3. Offer more trial offers
  4. Use upsells and cross sells more aggressively
  5. Use webinars as low-cost prospecting tools
  6. Be ruthless about measuring results
  7. Monitor results and respond quickly
  8. Offer more payment options
  9. Focus more on search engine optimization
  10. Target your marketing more
