Games make up 1 in 5 (20-23 percent) of iPad applications according to separate studies by Mobclix and Distimo respectively.

According to mobile ad exchange network operator Mobclix, at the end of June 2010, 284,989 of the 295,488 iPhone apps available in Apple’s App Store (about 96.5 percent) were compatible with the iPad. Of the 15,547 iPad-specific apps, approximately 20 percent were in the ‘Games’ category.

Meanwhile, Distimo said there were 20,798 iPad applications available at the end of July 2010 and of those, 4,903 were games (approximately 23.5 percent).
